Hello.
I am going to my Oxford interview tomorrow afternoon.
I am afraid.
I am so incredibly scared and under prepared it is not even funny.
I am going to Oxford tomorrow and on Monday morning I will have a one hour exam and then 2-3 interviews and the only thing I know is that I know nothing, while this is quite a brilliant deduction, I have to say that despite part of the degree being philosophy the admission tutors are not likely to accept this as a valid answer for all their questions.
In my personal statement I said that my my particular intereest in Philosophy is the idea of morality which was fuelled by Aristotle's book Ethics, a book which I have not read as of yet. Which I can see right now and which is not understandable. And yet I have another brilliant quote to deflect any possible questions regarding the book: I hate books; they only teach us to talk about things we know nothing about <-- it is by Rousseau, someone I will happily talk about and have also mentioned in Personal Statement, luckily without false proclamations of having read The Social Contract in the original french or something rediculous like that.
At least I have nearly finished the Political Animal and now know interesting things about politician and just how barmy they all are.
On the bright side all that research and revision into Poltics and philosophy means that I have completely disregarded that PPE stand for politics, philosphy and economics and have done very minimum revision into the central economic principles I used to know and love and that have chosen to abandon me in my hour of need.
I will be back on Wednesday, WISH ME LUCK for I am in dire need of it.
