Hello.

I am going to my Oxford interview tomorrow afternoon.

I am afraid.

I am so incredibly scared and under prepared it is not even funny.

I am going to Oxford tomorrow and on Monday morning I will have a one hour exam and then 2-3 interviews and the only thing I know is that I know nothing, while this is quite a brilliant deduction, I have to say that despite part of the degree being philosophy the admission tutors are not likely to accept this as a valid answer for all their questions.

In my personal statement I said that my my particular intereest in Philosophy is the idea of morality which was fuelled by Aristotle's book Ethics, a book which I have not read as of yet. Which I can see right now and which is not understandable. And yet I have another brilliant quote to deflect any possible questions regarding the book: I hate books; they only teach us to talk about things we know nothing about <-- it is by Rousseau, someone I will happily talk about and have also mentioned in Personal Statement, luckily without false proclamations of having read The Social Contract in the original french or something rediculous like that.

At least I have nearly finished the Political Animal and now know interesting things about politician and just how barmy they all are.

On the bright side all that research and revision into Poltics and philosophy means that I have completely disregarded that PPE stand for politics, philosphy and economics and have done very minimum revision into the central economic principles I used to know and love and that have chosen to abandon me in my hour of need.

I will be back on Wednesday, WISH ME LUCK for I am in dire need of it.

I wish you tons of luck and cross my fingers that everything will go well <3

And in case that you're very nervous go buy Bachflowers, Rescue Remedy to be more precice and take 5 drops right before your interview, they really do help.

Thank you for the wishes and luck, I hope I will be ok, I just need to think before I talk and not panic.

Oh and did you get my email, I would have betaed the fic for you if you'd send it, I am still willing to read it if you've found someone else, it would be a nice way to distract myself.

*hugs*

Yep, I got your mail and I would have send the fic to you for betaing IF I actually had managed to finish it on time.

I already have 3000 words and succeeded in getting Harry and Sirius into that backalley together, but now they refuse to have sex, all they want to do is talk about why they really shouldn't have sex *grr*

I got an extension until Friday, so you'll still have the chance to beta it once you get back from your interview.

Hopefully I've convinced the two to drop their trousers and start shagging by then ;-)

Also I have a new icon *rotfl*

That's exactly what happened to your birthday fic, I keep trying to get them to have sex but then other things happened and they just refuse to do it, apart from Sirius, Sirius could do it straight away. I can't wait for the interview to be over to read and beta it, back alley seems like a very good setting. What challenge is it for?

Best. Icon. Ever.

Can I borrow your Sirius? My Sirius is somehow convinced that it's wrong to shag his godson, but he hasn't any qualms about shagging anybody else available, which makes Harry annoyed and jealous.

The fic is for the Secret Sirry Santa over at [livejournal.com profile] sirry_slash

Should I send you what I've got so far as an appetizer of things to come ;-) ?

No *hides my Sirius* but my Remus is a bit like your Sirius and so things take a while.

Send it of course, but I won't attampt to do any betaing before I come back and I will probabaly read it tomorrow, as I need my beauty sleep :)

Good luck, good luck! Gosh, that means my Oxford interview was around a year ago already. I had a lot of fun during my interview stay, and I still remember it fondly even if I didn't get in, and it wasn't as scary as I expected interview and test-wise, and it's SUCH a gorgeous place to stay, you'll like the surroundings and lodgings even if the interviews are a nightmare :D :D

Thank you!!!

I am so glad you liked it even if you didn't get in and I know that it is absolutely lovely there, I went for an open day and even stayed the night and everybody was so nice, but still so scared. Can you tell me more about the types of questions and what you did in the free time beween interviews. Which college did you apply to? Hee, sorry for all the questions but I have no one else to ask.

Oh man, I can't remember exactly what it was like questions-wise, plus I was applying for a'physiology and psychology' course which is a little different from PPE (except for the multiple sujects thing meaning we get more interviews, yay! Not.) but I do remember that one was over before I thought he'd even got started, hee, which was good. They'll ask you things that sometimes you'll have NO IDEA what they want, so you ramble and hedge away and they drop clues at you till you get it - the interviewers were very nice in my experience, despite all the horror stories, heh.

There was a computer room just below me, so I spent some of my time on LJ, hee! I also went shopping, and hung out in the JCR with other people there for my course, and the night after our written test we all got disgustingly drunk in someone's room, which was fun ;D I applied to St Johns, where are you applying?

Thank you for that, although the not understanding the question thing is slightly scary. And yes there will be loads of interviews, hopefully I'll get used to them after messing up on the first one.

And yay, computers I will try to get to one and update LJ while there.

I have an evil plan, it envolves going out before the written test and getting everybody else drunk, that way I get in and they don't *evil laugh*

I've applied to University, for the simple reason that the name is the easiest one to remember.

For some weird reason, my internet wouldn't let me access your LJ for a while, so I didn't see this till now. I did remember about your interview however :). Good luck, I really do want you to get in (if you get in that gives me and Ani somewhat of a half chance).

It's wednesday here too, and I got back a couple of hours ago. It went ok, I think. To be perfectly honest I don't know, I will find out in about 10 days, the prospect terrifies me. I just don't comprehend getting accepted but I don't know what I'll do if I don't. Will update, have so much to tell, not only of interviews but people and weird and wonderful conversations, it was simply the best time.

I hope that thing went well for you at Oxford. I was doing a random search and came across you. I have to say if you love philosophy and Harry Potter you must read "Harry Potter and Philosophy If Aristotle Ran Hogwarts" It is a great book. If you read it please write back and tell me how you liked it.

Thank you. :)
I have to say I am very fond of the random search, I've met quite a few people that way. I haven't heard of that book, who is it by and what is it about, I would certainly read it if I can find it.
