OMG, I received a reading list from Oxford this morning. Wah. It is long and scary and basically told me that even if I have A levels in Maths and Economics I still don't know anything at all, it was mocking me I think. Had the sudden urge to have chosen English, no doubt the English Reading Lists have novels and fun things to read and not. "Knowledge: Readings in Contemporary Epistemology" Then I had a huge panic attack about getting into Oxford and *then* failing, which was incredibly stupid as I might not get in at all. And right now am not feeling all that hopeful. Don't know anything about Philosophy, can someone please tell me what Epistemology means?

In other, better news if you hate the stipid/horrible/arghhh Crazy frog, here is a game you might enjoy. Hehe, it is fun *shoots*

ETA! *93* *WINS* :D

My Stats book is so violent, half of the questions are about accidents, in one question *35* children were fatally electrocuted and I had to test whether there was need for new safety precautions. WTF? I say to that!

Epistemology, from the Greek words episteme (knowledge) and logos (word/speech) is the branch of philosophy that deals with the nature, origin and scope of knowledge.

Found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistemology

Google is your friend ;-)

And thanks for the shoot the frog link *runs off to play*

It sounds pretty interesting too me ;-)

Hmm, the farthest I've managed to shoot that annoying thing was 31, does it go further?

Thank you <3 It was made from this base (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v645/angelinedark/june2.jpg)

The line is thin between interesting and OMFG-out-of-my-league. :DD I think I will like it though.

81! *wins* The trick is to not shoot too soon, so it doesn't fly high but bounces, it moves more when it bounces.

Your hair is shiiny and red!

Hee, when I visited England last year our tourguide had gone to Oxford and he told us how long the reading list was. It was one of the reasons I ruled out overseas schools... I read really slow, I used to read quickly, but not anymore.

xD Electrocuted kids. Wow.

Hee, well I read quickly when it is interesting and I understand it, but otherwise it takes me absolutely ages. It was this long lost thing that terrified me though, and I don't even know yet if I have the grades I need. Wah, things are messy.

Seriously fucked up that book is. :DD

I have absolutely no idea, I add comms very randomly and apart from like two never look at them again. I use a filter separating people journals and comms, but now I will have to go see.

90! *also wins*

And don't worry about Oxford. You've done the hard bit and got a place. You'll get the grades and love it. *is omniscient*

Stats is always amusing when they try and make up questions in context. Mine aren't violent but random. I had one which was working out a confidence interval for the proportion of apples in a suppermarket where the sticky label won't come off.

The best was when we had to test for a relationship between being a vegetarian and requiring a parking space at a business conference. I kid you not.

That's what I keep telling myself, but then all the reason disappears and irrational fears take over my brain. *hopes you are*

o.O Was there a link? Still think random is better though, every third question in mine is about accidents, the electrocuted children one just killed me. I think that means I should leave the house more.

I want a reading list! *pouts* I didn't know what epistemology was, but it sounds quite fun from the explanation above.

I miss stupid maths questions! We had one last year for M1 which was about a goalkeeper deciding to lie down in front of the goal and stop the balls going in that way...very bizarre.

I should probably know this, but what subject will you be doing? Reading Lists are scary, but also a nice sort of reminder that I do need to revise.

Who comes up with those things? I can just imagine lots of old men sitting around the table and getting their fun out of the weirdest/most violent questions. Although I don't think I will ever miss maths.

Oooh, I have a reading list! I'll email it to you tomorrow if you like. It's not very long (which I found disappointing, am a geek and wanted lots of shiny Classics books to read...) but lists vary from college to college so yours might not have the same books. It'll give you a vague idea of some of the texts though. :)

How was your holiday? I haven't seen you in so long! How's school? I've had exams all week, so i've seen people, but it's been weired, especially walking around school when you don't have lessons to go to! Did you see the prom photos? Ms Wood told us that she got complaints from the place, and that they don't want our school next year!:p Also, we have eminem tickets!!!! Are you going???

Alright, I'll answer the questions from the beginning: My holiday was good. I've got a bit of a tan, but just a bit. I've sent Katia some pictures, I'll have to send you some too.

School is gay... oh wait a minute, that might offend Katia :P, so I'll say that school is stupid.

Yes I did see your prom photos, you looked very nice but the photos are tiny and you're with so many people and it's hard to see the detail. You'll have to show me more photos when I see you.

And no, I'm not going to Eminem. I don't like his new stuff, and either way I don't have much money. I went to see System of a Down last week though, that was really good.

In case I don't get to tell you in person, good luck with your exams, although you really don't need it seeing as you're so clever and hard working and I'm sure you'll get an A in everything. I think I didn't do very well on my Citizenship last month, but I don't really care very much.

There's a Saturday date for the Eminem concert now, which means the other one is nearly sold out, i think it's better that we're going on the first day though because last time 50 cent was only there on the saturday ,so yeah.
Also Dawn's coming with us now and i don't know about Robyn but i think she might as well.

As for reading lists, mine was tiiiny and I actually wanted more books to read. Obviously I am way too geeky. Your books sound scary though, doubt I'd feel as happy if I had to read them!

I do! *beams*

PPE means I get three reading lists, each of them with a nice long list of books, but I wasn't really complaining just sort of scared/excited at the realisation it is all so soon. *hates all over maths*
