Erm, The Soldier - In two sentences (which I scribbled down in 10 seconds, so don't attack me over it!), here's why: "The beauty and happiness conveyed over the idea of an English heaven and so forth. Whilst at the same time making me depressed over the idea of blind patriotism and its role in warfare."

I think, once the exams are over, I'll write up a little critique as to why I love that poem...

Well the colour of my room and my favourite colour, *is dark and mysterious not pink and fluffy* :p

Please do, I have inordinate amount of hate for this poem, especially comparing it with anything written after the patriotism had dissipated. Well hate is a strong word, but I just can't stand patriotic poems. I have to think about what my favourite war poem is, although I am leaning towards "Break of Day in the Trenches", I love that poem.
