I am in a happy, happy mood. I think it comes from being productive, like I actually did work today. As in homework and also I didn't quite fail that maths test I did last week, like I thought I would.

I can't believe my last post was the drunk one, I was going to post yesterday, but every time I do with no drabbles I feel guilty and so I don't. Which is silly. And my calendar looks sad with all the empty squares where there are days I haven't posted. I want it to be all full. And I never even get close to it.

OMG America on Friday! Yay!!!! I will have to take tons and tons of pics and spam you all when I get back. :D

Haven't had time to read any fic today, but colourme_hp has given me a lot of pretty art to look at and squee over. A totally awesome community, very busy and very pretty. So much love for the fanart!

I don't really read much fic anymore, I don't really know why. I have a huge list of things I want to read, the majority of those being novel lengths and I just haven't started. And when all of you post fic, I always mean to read it, bookmark it and then don't. I mean I do read some, but it is very random what I choose to read. And it is never something I'd planned on reading. What is wrong with me? Why do I not read fic? I don't know why I am saying this, but I think it's to do with my love for fanart, I love looking at it and I am contuinuously looking for new fanartists to friend and fangirl. Maybe because art is something I can quickly look at, as well as review and it doesn't take too long. I guess the time reason is laughable, considering how long I spend online, just reading/refreshing flist when I could be reading. I think it is because I have lost the habit. Whatever it is, I hope it changes. Soon. This probably applies when it comes to writing, but I won't go into that now.

In other, better news, Smallville ep was actually good. And Smallville fic is something I actually want to read. And I am not sure where to find it, sure I can find lots of fic. But I want to read a recent novel length dealing with all the Clark/Lex interactions from this season. I don't know if this exists and if it does, have no idea how to go about finding it. It is so much easier in HP, if I am looking for fic, I know exactly where to find it. I know all the classics etc. But am without a clue when it comes to Smallville, that's a fandom that can sure do with a newby community.

And I remember there is a community with starter packs for all sorts of fandoms, but can't remember its name. If anyone knows it, I will be very thankful.

Wow, and to think I started this not knowing what I was going to say. And look what happened. Stopping now, or I will be needing a lj-cut.

Maybe you aren't interested in reading fanfiction anymore? I know quite a few people who feel the same way.

I don't know, I guess it is possible, but when I do read it, I like it. It is the starting off that is the problem. If I manage to start something very long, I will probably not stop until I finish it. But I remember the time when I followed tons of WIPs and read new fics daily, actually checked the FA daily updates! I don't ever go there anymore. I am blaming LJ for that. I didn't know anyone in the fandom and just read fic, now I know people and don't read. :(

I like fic though. I don't want to stop reading. Why the change?!

Well, I don't check FA's daily updates anymore as well, but this may be because I belong to the staff and know which fics are updated before the FA readers do. :)) After all, I'm one of the people who approve them. :))

LJ may be the reason, I agree. I still read much fanfiction, but I've lost track on what's new and worthy on ff.net, for example, because LJ offers enough H/D fics for me to pick from. I guess that I'm missing fics that way, but hey, even I can't be everywhere at the same time.

It's not a bad thing not to read that much fanfiction anymore. This way, you can concentrate on other important things.

Does approving fics mean that you have to read them all? You must get an awful lot of terrible fics!

Yes, that is true, LJ gives you a certain guaranteed quality too. Although most of the fics tend to be one shots, and that has also influenced my reading habits I think. One shots are good and all, but easily forgettable and there isn't a sequel to keep me reading. Thank god for Surrender The Grey.

I really should concentrate on important things, not failing all my exams for example, but I still waste all my time on the net, MSN is fully to blame for that though *g*

For Smallville fic go to the central archive at http://smallville.slashdom.com/ and there's also svmadelyn's excellent recs journal talkoncorners between those two sites you should be able to find everything you're looking for ;-)

Posting a fic search at sv_inquiry or just browsing through the community might also help.

Every time I watch a new episode, I am all "OMG need fic now!" but it is episode based fic that I don't know where to find. And at the same time, I want to read the classics, you know every fandom has classics. And I want to squee over a particular look Clark gave Lex or a word or something, but nobody is on the same page as me when it comes to eps. I hope that doesn't mean I am bored from HP, I don't think I am. I guess a two week break would be nice though :D

Hi--I saw you had friended my recs blog, and I always like to check out people when they've friended me or the blog, so--here I am. *g* Anyway, I just wanted to point out a couple other links you might find helpful, in addition to sv_inquiry which someone pointed out. On that comm, linked as the website is the Smallville Resources Page (http://medicationforsleepdeprivation.popullus.net/svresources.htm) that I maintain, and in the userinfo you'll find a link to my overview at newbieguide with basically the same information.

As for specific season recs--hmm. I can't really think of that many that have dealt with the happenings in S4. The main stories of novel length that have come out are generally futurefic. I did just read one on the Remix challenge that is an interesting AU that kind of explains the season though: http://remix.illuminatedtext.com/dbfiction.php?fiction_id=316

I've also been doing codas for most every episode of the season; some are short, the longest is about ten pages, so if you're interested in a link to that, let me know, or just head over to my website, it's on my fic page.

Thank you so much for the links, those are really very helpful. And the newbieguide is what I referred to in my post, the community I couldn't remember the name of, and now I know it!

I like AUs, don't get me wrong, it's just that every fic I find starts with saying how Lex and Clark are best friends, which they sadly aren't anymore. Those fics can be fun, but not what I am craving right now. It is difficult when you are not really a part of the fandom to find specific fics.

I would definitely be interested in reading those, will hopefully be able to find them on your webside. :D

I cannot fathom reading LJ and not being able to squee as eps come along! *pats* Hmm. Well, I'm so glad you liked the ones I have so far, and I think a couple of the ones coming up might fit the bill for your more realistic look at SV if not novel length, and my first Recruit coda is one that I just adored writing, so hopefully it all works out too.

I know, it is evil. :( But thankfully we get the whole season in one go. And I have thought about downloading it, like I do with QAF and will very soon, hopefully do with Lost, but I like watching it on TV. The one good thing about Mondays! And as I don't have many Smallville people friended, I don't really get spoiled. The one time it does suck is when the you get the new season and we don't, the waiting is horrible.

Hehe, I am tempted to keep reading the codas, but they'll make little sense to me, so I will resist. Will definitely look around your other fics though, you are a *very* productive writer! *g*

Reading fics... I went through the same actually! As first when I found Lj i read like a madman every single thing, read, laughed, got even histerical with laughter and then.. that just stopped. I got so used to reading stuff and knowing what was to come! Stupid really! Well I do miss that at the beginning it was cool, but I don't waste my time now with that!

I can't wait for your pics! Hope you have a great time there, though I also hope we catch on MSN these days for a chat!

Hello. :) I am often on MSN, but even when it says you are online you never respond, so I guess you are not really there. I am indeed going to America, Atlanta in Georgia and Florida too. Am very excited! Yay!

I don't know what it is about the fic, it isn't predictable like you said, HP fandom is huge and there is tons of awesome fic that I have just not read. But maybe you are right, maybe I need a break.
