I keep planning to update as wanted to have an account of finals from the middle of it all and next week is the week of hell, so I doubt I will have  time to even check my emails, so here are my thoughts. I might not have said this before, but I have 8 exams which would decide the total mark of my degree, all three years of study are examined in just over a week. No pressure, right?

I should be learning about India's democracy all over again, because one thing I have established over the past few months is that my brain is rather like a sieve and all my knowledge sadly goes down the drain. But I've just had a really nice dinner cooked for me and had a non-exam related conversation and laughter and I just feel to content to return to reading.

I have had three exams so far. Five to go. My awful timetable gives me one on monday morning, one on wednesday afternoon, one on Thursday morning and two on Friday. When it is over, I imagine I will collapse within the first glass of alcohol, but oh it will be awesome.

Anyway Exams. I get really nervous and throw up before exams if I eat. This is a bit of a problem as you may imagine. I went to see the college Nurse and she ever so helpfully prescribed me anti nausea tablets which make you drowsy. I decided against that but am happy to say no vomiting as of yet. Though on Friday morning I did get up at 5 and felt dreadfully sick for many hours.

The actual exams went okay as far as I can tell, which isn't much, my only marked essays have been collections and these have varied from 1sts to a dreadful 2.2 we don't talk about and yet I can never tell what I get. So I don't know, but I do know that I answered three questions and I more or less knew where I was going, which is a good thing.

I started with International Relations, I felt like I knew lots about it, but brain sieve problem yet again and in a moment of panic I convinced myself I wouldn't be able to remember the copious facts needed for the UN question. I answered a question on the role of progress in the theory of International Society, which I had a lot of fun writing and do think was good. I also answered a question on NATO, which was okay, but didn't have time to plan well, so not as good as the theory question. Finally I wrote a pretty awful essay on democratic peace theory, but what it lacked in content was made up in the conviction of argument. I mean, it was probably wrong, but at least it had a structure. It was all right, though I know I  could have done better, there is something about a first exam before you are used to the whole procedure that really make sit extra hard. The next night I had a dream I got a 61 on it, which was really horrible, and then I woke up and thought what if i'd done even worse?! I really don't think so, but you never know!

On Thursday afternoon I had Ethics. Was really dreading ethics, but the paper was quite easy, even with my pitiful revision I could have potentially answered about 6 questions. As we only have to do three, that was pretty good. I did one on Consequentialism, to which I knew the answer and think did fairly well on, one on Wellbeing which was less okay, but I had quite a lot of things to say and one on Kant which I had to rush as I hadn't planned my time very well, and probably isn't quite right, but I am just glad I don't have to do ethics ever again so I was just really happy after it was done.

Political Theory on Friday morning had the potential to be my best paper and I don't really know but I think it was quite good. Everyone else hadn't revised enough topics and were pretty screwed over as both Neutrality and Global Justice didn't come up, but I'd revised 5 and there were 3 I could do. The first one was on Democracy, and I really tried to go somewhere with it, and I think the argument/structure was fine, but I thought the question was boring, which means I wrote a boring response. Then I answered a question on the role of desert in distributive justice, which is my favourite question so far. (I know that sounds really sad, but I almost had fun answering it!) And lastly I babbled not well on the feminism question, it was a bit of a rambly response, but I answered the question, so hopefully it's not too bad.

Yeah I've had a good, average and bad essay in all my exams, so hopefully they will balance to something not too bad. I don't know, I always get really paranoid when I talk to other people which have done really different things from me, and then worry I've got a 2:2 but am just too stupid to realise it! But I really should think about that.

So glad they haven't been evil! Looking forward to celebrating freedom with you. :D Your papers all sound really impressive, though it's a shame that philosopher (I have stupidly forgotten his name. The one you went to see a play about and were the only person under 50 in the audience! Oh, I hope it wasn't Kant/a consequentialist type person now) wasn't in a question. Heh.

This weird comment brought to you by a fellow finalist. <3

Mill! I did speak about Mill a tiny bit!
Half way done now, yay, though the other 4 will be in three days which will be so shit! I hate the after exam tiredness, need to be working now! Is the weather in London as shit as in here? I seems to rain all the time, it better be sunny when we finish!

I didn't know you liked Buffy! (icon)

That's the one! :D Hooray.
Congratulations on surviving this far. I have the annoying tiredness too, need to revise but too sleepy, can't sleep properly from fear because I'm not revising enough. Vicious cycle! Weather is DIRE here as well. I hate revising in the sun though so don't mind too much.

Thank you! The scary part is that it feels like I have had exams for ever and I am only half way! How many do you have to do?
The weather is mad, keep checking BBC and it changes every few hours, Wed is meant to be heavy rain and 25 degrees!

I FAIL (we should discuss this at some point)

I know, I felt like that after my first exam! I only have one left, thank goodness. I think it's because you're doing three years' worth of exam really, you poor thing! Whereas I only have one like all sane universities.
Oh, Britain. Worst weather ever. It was sunny in the north and Scotland though! Strange.
