Gossip Girl

So I have watched Gossip Girl, because it is the sort of stupid thing that I do when I am meant to be revising. I wouldn't say it's good, but I liked it. I mean I loved the OC, and this is basically the OC in New York.

Has anyone else watched it?

There is Serena, the popular, hot, rich girl, Blair her bitchy best friend, who is dating Nate the hot lacrosse player who is in love with Serena. But Serena starts going out with Dan, who is poor and geeky as well as boring and not attractive, but I don't think he is meant to be that. Then there is Dan's younger sister Jenny who tries to be friends with the rich girls and is actually kinda awesome, their dad Rufus who is hot and used to have a thing back in the days with Serena's mum Lily and Chuck. Chuck is Nate's best friend, Serena and Jenny's almost rapist, Blair's something and he is a complete asshole, only I sort of think he is awesome in a creepy sort of way. I do think he has a heart somewhere in there. But then again I am weird and have very unpopular opinions, (to compare: I totally adore Jenny from the L Word, though I may be alone in that, oh and I quite liked West)

So the thing is, I finished watching the show and then I wrote some fics today, that's right in a plural sort of way, not one or two but three. The are short to be fair. Still. Very unusual for me. One is one sided Chuck/Nate, the other Blair/Serena and then there is Chuck everybody which I haven't finished yet but is coming along nicely.

Chuck grew up watching Chuck Norris movies, because one of his nannies or other had a well developed sense of irony.

Chuck lied when he told Nate that he cares about thee things: money, the pleasures money can buy and Nate, he would not admit this under torture but he would give up the first two things for the pleasures Nate can give him.

Chuck resents his father and at the same time strives to be him, he tells himself it is the perfect, unexpected teenage rebellion. Really he is kind of lonely.

He started all the rumours about his sexual prowess to impress Nate, he only started sleeping with so many girls because it didn’t work.

The first time Chuck slept with Blair, he thought it was poetic justice, he couldn’t have what he wanted but he could have what Nate wanted. Then he felt rotten so he fucked her again.

In Monaco he nearly told Nate about Blair three times. He couldn’t do it, because he was afraid that Nate would forgive her.

Chuck thought the blackmail plan was genius. He really did feel nauseous seeing them together. He only wished he didn’t care about how desperate Nate was getting.

Chuck screamed at Nate for his stupid nobility, but a small part of him was oddly proud. A much bigger part was jealous and even more determined to make Blair’s life hell.

I've read (some of) the books, but only because my sister used to buy them to go on holiday with and I always ran out of reading material. I've been wondering whether to watch it.

Don't. It's fun and pretty, but it is also incredibly shallow and such a waste of time. On the other hand if you feel like wasting time...it's not the worst thing you can do. It's meant to be quite different from the books, it's really weird how I would never consider reading them or anything similar, but when it comes to TV shows I am shameless. What are the books like anyway?

i am so hyped about episode 13, pregnancy scare ahoy!!!
