Maybe I was thinking of staircase 2. The one half-way along on the right of the main quad.
I know Univ. quite well from 10+ years ago. The Tolkien Society used it for Oxonmoot from 1991 to 1996 (except 1992). We used the JCR for the Dealers' Room and the Art Show and the room opposite it for Hospitality. amalion and I had the twin set above the JCR and ex-membership secretary and archivist had the room opposite that. I am deducing that is your room.
I liked Univ. for Oxonmoot and would like to go back there, but we'd need to use the dining hall for the Saturday Party, as the Cellar Bar would be too small for us now (Oxonmoot has grown), but they won't let us use the dining hall. :-(
