Wow, it has been a long time! I just haven't posted, but I am alive and well. Not sure why I haven't been posting exactly, well, was in Bulgaria, with no internet, for about 6 weeks, but have been back home for about a month now and just haven't had the inclination to write about anything. But since both my shows are back I do need a space for "serious discussion"...
Heroes! I just watched the first two episodes and have quite a bit I want to say, and about a million questions. More about general life and Gossip Girl will probably come soon, but before I go to bed (early driving lesson tomorrow) just want to jot down my feelings before I forget.
As a whole, I liked it, though watching the two eps one after the other felt a bit like a very wild rollercoaster ride, with plenty of loud WTFs?! along the way. I can see why people wouldn't like it, though I unreservedly did. Oh Heroes, how I missed your insanity! I am so glad I wasn't spoiled.
Lets start from the end. Sylar as another stray Petrelli, I can't say I was shocked, though I didn't think they would go there, (though there is a possibility they are fucking with us?) but it does make sence, the physical similarities with Peter are pretty obvious, and the fact that only him and Peter can have multiple abilities. Twins? Experiments? That formula... I don't know, but I do want to see mama P trying to be maternal. She is pretty awesome.
Loved that we finally got some answers, Angela's power, how Sylar takes powers his "Don't be disgusting" responce to the eating brains was priceless, who shot Nathan, but the new questions far outweight those!
So, Tracy is certainly not Nicki, but to look exactly like her? What? And Nicki, I assume, died in a fire, but where are Micah and Monica? I really, really want them back. And Molly! Getting rid of Molly quietly off screen really pissed me off, I doubt we'll ever see her again.
Parkman talking to the turtle = love!
Mohinder's personality transplant (even prior to the injection, I mean he is a scientist, true, a very, very stupid one, but not someone who would act so rashly without any safety test) I can forgive because I am just that shallow. He has never, ever looked that hot before, ever, I mean whoa, him and Maya are very stupid, but they are also very very pretty and that was an amazingly hot sex scene. I don't know, just wow. Pity about the aftermath, did she give him Sylar cooties? Interesting threesome potential there.
I do understand where Hiro is coming from, but he should really stop it, because if anything his behaviour is likely to push Ando to the dark side, it's probably what will happen, and he should know better that let future events shape the present so directly. Fast-girl seems fun, though the addition of another blonde girl to the cast (talk about an obsesson, Kring?) at the expense of another non white character (seriously, where is Monica?) is really not on.
Oh and of it will bring DOOM, why didn't they just destroy the stupid formula!?
Yay Noah, the showdown with Sylar and Elle was fantastic! I am so pleased Elle is still around, I see a lot of potential for character development there, I think loosing daddy will probably be good for her in the long term.
So Clare can't feel anything? Anything? Is it bad that the first thing I though was that her sex life would suck? Seriously though, her scene with Sylar, apart from the bizarre Scream homage at the start was chilling/creepy/fantasticly well done and I am so pleased her victimisation was acknowledged and she wants to become more proactive! Go Clare! Her lack of feeling certainly explains her path to the evil side, I wonder why Sylar did it to her, it must have been his 'surgery', and he certainly still feels the pain. I wonder if Adam does, speaking of Adam, god Angela's dream was fucked up.
I guess the Peters and Nathan are the only ones left to talk about, I guess there is a reason for that, as the biggest WTF?! moments were definitely there.
Um, Nathan, please become normal again! The religious rhetoric was just so not you, I guess it looked like he was in a trance, so maybe he isn't to blame, but still. And is Linderman just a hallucination? A ghost? Did he heal him? Like, from before? I don't get it! Though seeing Linderman totally made me scream, he is such a delight to watch.
Present!Peter, the little we saw of him seemed all right, not so infected with the crazy, and going with the Villains was probably wise, but it does raise quite a few questions. Where is his actual body? And more importantly, where is the bad guy's mind? And what is it that he can do? Also a bunch of Villains doing evil things for fun? I don't know, I just expected more subtlety from Heroes, I admit I am slightly dissapointed.
Future!Peter otoh is completely insane, surely shooting your brother is not the only way to stop him from talking? I mean, explaining things might have worked?! It does make me wonder what future Nathan is like. And if F!Peter is one of the good ones there, then the world is pretty fucked, and he did the right thing by attempting to change it. Even if he sucked at that. Which he did. And does changing his future mean that he is stuck in the present for good?
Oh and I hate the way time travelling is used just to mess up everything, but when it would make perfect sense for Hiro to go back just 5mins in time and put the formula back in the safe, he chooses not to for a stupid, stupid reason.
Finishing on a rather negative note here, but truly can't wait till next week!
