Terry Pratchett!

Things right now are a million times better because I met Terry Pratchett and he was wonderfully funny and he signed my Good Omens and then on Friday if I get it signed by Neil Gaiman too it will be omg so awesome.

I wish I could talk about this more, but have an essay for tomorrow morning which for various reasons I have yet to start.

Oh! potatofiend asked him what he thinks of fanfiction with regards to Crowley and Aziraphale and his answer was : "Oh, you mean slashfic?" !!! The entire chamber went into a collective squee! Well not the entire chember, but a lot of people.

Yayness.

Well she asked him how possessive he was of his characters and how he feels about fic being written about Aziraphale and Crowley's future adventures, didn't mention slash at all and he did in response in a very cheerful way! Then he said *copies answer shamelessly* that he thinks it's fabulous that the fans have their thing and do it, but that he tries not to read fanfiction because of copyright issues. By which he means that, in the past, fanficcers have attempted to sue him for stealing ideas from them. He also commented, though, that there are occasionally what he terms 'drive-by manuscript dumps' at conventions.

I know he's the only person I have ever been prepared to stand in an autograph queue for over an hour and be late back to work from lunch for.

Glad to hear that he's so accepting about fanfic as well.
